WHENUA FRUITS

WHENUA FRUITS are a startup business based in Ngongotaha growing berries. The goal is for 10-12 hectares of orchards of berries. They are looking at 2 hectare plots at the moment so far things are looking awesome with private water systems. Okoheriki has currently invested in whenua fruits.

THE FUTURE OF PAPAKAINGA

Building whānau and hapū capacity and capability is key.   Whānau and hapū-led papakāinga and whenua development initiatives are persevering and even thriving despite the barriers and challenges to doing so. The continued and sustained government support for Māori housing and economic development initiatives are right here right now.  We are working towards bringing this to fruition for the benefit of our shareholders.

FORESTRY

Being our first harvest for the year due to covid there was a bit of a delay and we have had to deal with lots of undergrowth and gorse.   A double lift of thinning up to 5.5 meters was completed.
